The Career Technical Center was opened in September of 1977 with the objective of teaching students with 'hands-on' training in certain subjects not covered in a regular school environment. The student capacity is approximately 440; this allows for a large amount of students able to take the offered courses while leaving enough space to influence a positive learning environment. The facility serves county high schools such as Lafayette High School, Lanett High School, and Valley High School. Students are transported by bus, from the high school in which they are enrolled, to the CCCTC grounds. While there, students receive career technical training in one of the following areas: Cosmetology Building Construction Automotive Technology Horticulture Health Science Environmental Management Information Technology Business/Marketing
